The Process: An Embedded Partnership
I spent several weeks there across two summers, not advising from a distance but living the experience as a guest would. That's how I ran a real-time Guest Journey Mapping process. Being there meant I could spot things you only notice when you're actually on-site, like a cluttered barn that could become a “Spa & Wellness Area” with candles and better lighting. That small touch was highly praised in later reviews.
- Elevating the Guest Experience: We streamlined every touchpoint, from automating pre-arrival messages with a Welcome Page and FAQ, to a post-stay feedback form that turned into the best source of ideas for what to fix next.
- Building the Business OS: We centralized every aspect of the business, from housekeeping checklists to long-term strategy, into a Notion workspace that covers everything. New team members can onboard themselves, and there's one place to find any answer about the business.
- Upgrading the Online Presence: We overhauled the website with professional copy and a cohesive brand voice, directly contributing to the +20% conversion rate. We then standardized the brand's identity across all platforms, including new TripAdvisor and optimized Google profiles, helping drive a +25% increase in traffic the following season.
- Implementing Data-Informed Strategy: We introduced AI workflows to analyze reservation data, creating the business's first performance dashboard. This allowed us to track key hospitality metrics like Occupancy Rate, ADR, and RevPAR for the first time.
Culture by Design
When Jakob suggested I become part of the company, I designed this culture blueprint to set the foundations for the team. The goal: shape a strong, intentional work culture before new teammates join, so they naturally follow the rhythm. While inspired by the glamping context, these principles apply to almost any company.

The real turning point was when we opened the first-ever performance dashboard. Seeing a clear, data-driven connection between a specific unit's high Occupancy Rate and its unique features allowed Jakob to move from “gut feel” to strategic action. For the first time, he had a real-time view of his most critical business drivers. He said, “This is powerful.
