What is System Creation?
The practice of deliberately designing and building new systems: products, processes, or organizations: rather than only improving existing ones. In the agent-first era, system creation gains a new dimension: the system being created often includes AI agents as components, which means the designer is writing behavior contracts, not just interfaces.

In practice
Most consulting improves existing systems; the deeper value is creating ones that did not exist. The discipline is the same whether the system is a software product, a team operating model, or a client engagement: define the outcome, identify the components and their boundaries, then iterate the whole. With agents in the mix, system creation means specifying what each agent owns, what it can access, and how it reports: the architecture of work itself.
