What is Feature Flag?
A control that enables or disables a software capability without deploying a new version. Flags separate deployment from release, letting teams expose a change to selected users, compare variants, or switch off a risky feature while investigating a problem.
My perspective
In practice
I treat each flag as a temporary decision with an owner, a default state, and a removal condition. Testing both states matters: stale flags multiply possible behaviours and can hide dependencies. A flag is useful for a reversible rollout, but it does not replace authorization checks or a tested recovery plan.
